Got questions? Let’s break it down.
WHAT IS CORK POWDER, EXACTLY?
It’s a finely ground version of natural cork—dry, soft, and airy. Its texture feels like soft sand or flour and carries the signature light tan hue of raw cork.
HOW CAN YOU USE CORK POWDER?
There’s no shortage of ways to use cork powder:
- Construction: Mix it into plasters or fillers to enhance sound and thermal insulation. It’s also great in lightweight concrete or as a cavity filler.
- Fishing: Popular for making buoyant boilies used in carp fishing—it floats well and has a natural appeal.
- Fireworks: Thanks to its flammability, it’s ideal in sparklers and visual effects.
- Glass manufacturing: Plays a role during the production phase.
- Battery production: Acts as an insulative component within layers.
- 3D printing: Added to filament blends for enhanced texture or weight reduction.
- Decorative coatings: Adds texture and insulation properties to paint and plaster applications.
- Model making: Great for building realistic dioramas, landscapes, or holiday displays.
- Custom materials: Combine it with resins or adhesives to create your own composite materials.
IS IT AN ECO-FRIENDLY PRODUCT?
Absolutely. Cork is a completely renewable material that doesn’t harm the tree during harvest. The bark regenerates naturally, and some cork oaks can live for over 200 years.
WHAT’S THE RIGHT WAY TO STORE IT?
Keep it in a dry spot away from sunlight. Use an airtight container to prevent moisture absorption and keep it in top shape over time.
DOES IT STILL WORK WHEN COMBINED WITH OTHER MATERIALS?
Yes! It retains its insulation capabilities and stays lightweight. When blended, its texture simply becomes denser or more cohesive, depending on what it's mixed with.
CAN IT BE USED AS BIOMASS?
Definitely. Cork powder fits right into sustainable practices. It’s biodegradable, low-impact, and sourced naturally without harming the planet.
HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM CORK GRANULES?
The biggest difference is particle size. Cork powder is ultra-fine, like flour. Granules are larger—think couscous-sized—and there are even chunkier types made from larger cork bits.
WHAT’S THE TYPICAL DENSITY RANGE?
Density varies based on grain size. Ultra-fine cork (under 0.25 mm) generally falls between 90–110 kg/m³, while coarser particles (0.2–0.5 mm) tend to range from 60–80 kg/m³.
HOW IS CORK POWDER PRODUCED?
It’s made by mechanically grinding raw cork material into fine particles. The process is similar to grinding coffee—after grinding, the cork is sifted to achieve a consistent, powdery finish.
Cork sheets and rolls are handy — no doubt about it. But when you’re working in tight spaces or need more control, you’ll want something more refined. Cork dust is cork at its finest: loose, flexible, and totally eco-friendly. Synthetic substitutes? They don’t even come close — clunky, rigid, and well... not the real deal.

#1 LIGHT AS AIR & COMPLETELY INERT
Cork dust is incredibly lightweight, thanks to its sponge-like structure packed with tiny air cells. That gives it volume without weighing you down — super easy to transport, pour, and spread however you need.
What makes it even more impressive? It’s chemically stable. That means no unwanted reactions when combined with glues, plasters, or resins. Plus, it’s UV-resistant and biologically tough, so it holds up outdoors just as well as inside.
#2 LIMITLESS APPLICATIONS
You’ll spot cork dust in action across all kinds of industries — from soundproofing and insulation to crafting and home improvement. It blends seamlessly into plasters, enhancing both thermal and acoustic performance.
Its malleability is a game-changer. It compresses and fits wherever you need it. Whether you're a DIY enthusiast, an artisan, or just experimenting with materials, cork dust molds easily and adapts to your projects.
#3 GENTLE ON SKIN, SAFE FOR ALL
Cork dust is non-allergenic and skin-friendly. It won’t trigger rashes or irritations — a smart choice if you're aiming for a toxin-free, health-conscious workspace or home.
Our cork granules are backed by a certified hygiene rating from Poland’s National Institute of Public Health (PZH). This isn’t just marketing fluff — it’s verified assurance. In fact, we’re currently the only supplier in Poland offering certified cork granules with this level of documentation.
#4 AN EARTH-FRIENDLY ALTERNATIVE
Cork is a fully natural and renewable resource. It’s harvested from the bark of cork oak trees — and here’s the best part: the trees stay standing. The bark grows back, making it a low-impact, sustainable material choice.
A lot of cork dust is made from repurposed materials — like used cork stoppers or scrap panels. It’s a great example of the circular economy at work: instead of throwing it away, we put it back to use. Smart and sustainable.
